Seriously though, it might be a good force to have. Even if his immigration view are not exactly aligned, he could consider this because all the Businesses that would benefit from this, especially in CA.
Let's discuss ways to communicate with the Governor and to make him aware of our situation. I am going to do some research on his views on immigration but I think it might be good.

Please call in suppoirt of Cantwell Amendment
1. Print the phone numbers
2. Print the talking points
3. Take your cell phone and call from your Car in the parking lot

Hi Jerrome,
You should receive it in 3-4 days max. We got it in 2 days. Please ask them to recheck, or call USCIS 1-800 number or even better conduct INFOPASS where they can even resend the RFE to another address if necessary.
Generally how many days it takes to get the actual RFE in hand.

Reason is probably they discovered your employer is doing similar crap with other employees.

Hi all,
One of my relatives who has been here in United States for last 10 years keep on telling me that there is a co-relation between Expedition of Green Card process and election year.
I am planning to switch my job as I am having a great offer, but he kept on telling me that in the past, he has noticed great expedition of green card process during the election years. He advises me against switching the job at this point. My PD is Jan 2005.
Please let me know, if any of you agree with him.

As far as I know, Your new EB2 labor is completely independent of your approved EB3 petition. While your EB2 is in process or even if it is denied you can still fall back on your EB3 to get your 3 year H1 renewals and avail other benefits of approved petition. This is what the attorney told my employer.
Coming to the question of whether you can use your on the job experience towards EB2, the answer doesn't seem to be consistent. My company's attorney tells us that is possible and there is a 90 % chance of approvals and 10% chance of denials.
At the same time, I have seen different views from members of this forum.

No one can file I-485 without the PD for that person is current in the visa bulletin.
You can replace your previous wife with a new wife at home, not with USCIS. !!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to know how should one modify the immigration petition again after divorce and second marriage. Can the second wife name be added to 485 immediately or wait for the PD to become current? And how about EAD?

PD should be current at the date of approval too.
Are you sure about this statement?
Can some more experienced members can back the above line.
Because as per current slow trend PD is never ever going to be current!

Nope...once you have used your EAD you cannot go back to H1-B. AFAIK.
but I am not an expert so I guess others around here might have a different take. Best,
you can but it will be new h1 with 6 month validity. I think it will be new H1 and no quota is available now.
Can't you get EAD from local USCIS center after 90 days if it was not processed?

Have a similar question. My 485 (EB3-I was filed in July 2007). Yet to be married and have to bring spouse on H-4.
My question is around options to keep my spouse here in case I loose my H1b status.
1. How easy difficult is it to get converted to F-1 visa?. (Does the university / program matter? I guess it would)
2. Can the spouse start the program on H4 then convert to F-1? Can this be done quickly enough after loss of primary's H1 status? (worst case).
3. Other thean F-1, what other options are there if primay looses H1 status (i.e. uses EAD).

tricky question general rule.
1 week (not recommended questionable by USCIS if complained by anyone):eek:
1 month Questionable by USCIS
2 months ok might not have problems at passport filing
3 months preferable relatively safe
4 months plus you are pretty safe.

if you want to join ANY iv chapter, your name and other info i listed below is mandatory. we do not admit anonymous members. if you cannot reveal yourself to your own community then you are frankly no good to us....
please DO NOT send blank requests for membership.
having to write back and ask for it is a real waste of my time.

At last my turn comes in January.....now the real fight begins.....any information abt how to get name check status....etc. my FP was done in Sep 2007....did not receive any new FP request...any insight on that gurus.

There are 2 reasons that I thought of for not applying / renewing.
1) I'm not planning on going anywhere after / atleast for a year.
2) My wife's AP filed last year took Six months to get approved and what happens if you fly out while your AP is pending / sent for renewal. I read in this forum, not fly out, while you AP is pending.
Appreciate your time.
